Michigan Woman Charged with Murder in Fatal Crash
A Michigan woman, Diamond Glenn, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a tragic crash that claimed the life of a 69-year-old man. The incident occurred on Dec. 21, 2024, in Warren at the Mound and Chicago roads intersection, when a Ford Escape collided with a Chevrolet Silverado.
Police responding to the scene found Glenn on a nearby sidewalk, reportedly disoriented. Witnesses identified her as the driver of the Ford Escape, and initial reports suggest she was under the influence at the time of the crash. Tragically, the driver of the Silverado, Christopher Andelean, was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a local hospital.
Additional Charges and Legal Developments
Following the crash, Glenn faced more charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer who attempted to provide medical assistance. According to police reports, she resisted arrest and bit the officer, necessitating her transport to a hospital for further evaluation.
On Jan. 18, Glenn was arraigned on multiple charges, including second-degree murder and attempted failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault, resulting in death. A judge later amended her bond from $100,000 to $500,000, with a condition that Glenn must wear a GPS tether if released.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “After a thorough investigation by the Warren Police Department, we have determined that second-degree murder is the appropriate charge in this case. Our hearts go out to the family of the victim during this incredibly difficult time, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served for their loss.” Glenn is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23 for a probable cause hearing.
