Second Suspect Faces Murder Charges After Warren Police Chase Ends in Deadly Collision [Warren, MI]

Warren Police Chase Ends in Deadly Collision: A Warren police chase that ended in a deadly collision has resulted in the arrest and murder charge of a second man from Pontiac. The tragic incident occurred early Saturday, June 29, near the intersection of 10 Mile and Dequindre roads, claiming the life of a passenger in a Jeep.

According to authorities, two Warren police officers were on patrol on Eight Mile Road, near Mound Road, when they noticed three Dodge Chargers speeding in tandem, potentially racing. The officers attempted a traffic stop for reckless driving, activating their lights. One Charger pulled over while the other two sped off, igniting a high-speed chase.

The chase reached a devastating conclusion when one of the fleeing Chargers struck a Jeep that was turning onto 10 Mile Road. Tragically, Katrina Michael, a 42-year-old passenger in the Jeep, was killed on impact. The police called off the pursuit immediately after the crash, which lasted a mere three minutes.

James Hudson, a 26-year-old man from Pontiac, was allegedly driving the Charger that collided with the Jeep. He was taken into custody at the scene of the crash. Damaree Terry, another 26-year-old from Pontiac and the driver of the Charger that initially got away, was later apprehended at his workplace in Auburn Hills.

On Wednesday, July 3, Terry faced multiple serious charges, including second-degree murder, first-degree fleeing and eluding, three counts of second-degree fleeing and eluding, and three counts of reckless driving causing serious injury. Similarly, Hudson was arraigned on the same charges the day before, on Tuesday, July 2. Both men have had their bonds set at $1 million each and are scheduled for preliminary exams on July 23.
