St. Clair County Pedestrian Dies After Pickup Truck Crash

St. Clair County Pedestrian Dies After Pickup Truck Crash—a tragic incident that occurred in China Township, Southeast Michigan—has now claimed the life of 20-year-old Evan Rudich from Cottrellville Township. Authorities confirmed that Rudich passed away from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle on the night of June 20.

According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Marine City Highway and King Road. Initial accounts suggest that Rudich may have been standing in the roadway when a 2012 Ford F-150 hit him. The driver, an 18-year-old resident of St. Clair, fled the scene initially but was later located by deputies.

In a subsequent statement, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the driver has been found and is currently cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and the crash remains under active investigation by the St. Clair County Crash Investigation Team.

Rudich was rushed to McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens immediately after the crash. Despite emergency efforts, he sadly passed away at the hospital on Monday, just days after the incident.
