

Gillian B. Treier is an Associate attorney, and principally trains Personal Representatives and Trustees on the efficient management and administration of Estates and Trusts. Gillian graduated from Wayne State University with a concentration in pre-law studies and then went directly on to attend University of Detroit-Mercy Law School where she founded the Elder Law and Estate Planning Society. She was also a regular contributor to the law school’s newspaper “In Brief”. In addition to her studies as an undergraduate, she worked part-time as legal assistant with Zeigler & Associates – focusing on Employment law; and then as a legal assistant at Wakefield, Sutherland & Lubera – focusing on Charitable Foundations along with Estates and Trusts. In addition, during law school Gillian clerked for the then acting Federal Magistrate (now Federal Bankruptcy Judge), Mark A. Randon, at the Eastern District of Michigan.
Gillian was admitted to the bar in 2011 and began working as an attorney with Wakefield, Sutherland & Lubera practicing Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration. Most recently, Gillian worked as a Pro Bono Staff Attorney at Lakeshore Legal Aid, connecting Macomb County attorneys with opportunities to serve impoverished residents of Macomb County. Gillian is also an active member of the Macomb County Bar Association and participates in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and is an active member of the Women’s Lawyer Association of Michigan.
In addition to her practice, Gillian also serves on the Board of Directors for various local charitable family Foundations. Gillian resides in Clinton Township with her husband and three children. Gillian and her husband enjoy raising their young children together, travelling and working on arts and craft projects as a family.
