Two Dead, Four Injured in High-Speed Collision in Dearborn

DEARBORN, MI — Two Dead, Four Injured:  Tragedy struck early Sunday morning in Dearborn as a high-speed crash claimed the lives of two individuals and left four others injured. According to local authorities, the devastating accident occurred at approximately 2:08 a.m. on eastbound Michigan Avenue near the Southfield Freeway.

The accident involved an 18-year-old Dearborn resident who was driving a Dodge Charger at high speed. Police report that the young driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a catastrophic collision with a tree. The impact was severe, and the 18-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash also claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman from Garden City, who was a passenger in the Dodge Charger. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

In addition, four other passengers, all between the ages of 15 and 20, were transported to local hospitals. One of these individuals is listed in critical condition, while the others sustained injuries deemed less severe.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released as police continue their investigation into the cause of the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2275.

“This is a senseless tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected,” said Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin. “As we navigate through this grief, we encourage parents to have meaningful conversations with young drivers about the critical importance of safe driving.
