The incident was captured on video, showing Deputy Miron climbing from her moving patrol vehicle into the window of a pickup truck. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham commended Deputy Miron’s bravery and quick thinking, stating, “Due to her quick thinking and selfless actions, she safely ended what could have been a tragic situation.”
This life-saving act occurred around 2:15 p.m. on September 12, when deputies were alerted to a GMC Sierra truck driving erratically on Gratiot Avenue near Church Street. Responding deputies located the truck near Remick Drive and immediately activated their emergency lights and sirens.
However, the 63-year-old driver, apparently in a daze due to a medical episode, failed to stop. The truck continued to move at a slow speed of about 5 mph. Despite repeated attempts to get the driver to stop, he appeared unresponsive to the deputies’ commands.
As the situation grew more urgent, Deputy Miron acted decisively. She managed to pull alongside the truck and noticed the driver was in a disoriented state. With remarkable bravery, she climbed through the truck’s window to reach the driver and stop the vehicle. Shortly after the truck was safely stopped, a Clinton Township fire truck arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance to the driver. He was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
