Rollover Crash in Livingston County Leaves One Dead
A fatal rollover crash in Livingston County has claimed one life and left two others with serious injuries following a violent two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in Green Oak Township, Michigan.
According to the Green Oak Township Police Department, the tragic accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. at Rickett Road and Maltby Road. Authorities reported that an 81-year-old man from Whitmore Lake was driving a silver Jeep at a high rate of speed when he collided with a blue GMC Terrain operated by a 35-year-old woman from Howell.
The severe impact resulted in both vehicles flipping and trapping all occupants inside. Emergency responders from multiple agencies quickly arrived on the scene and began extrication procedures to free the victims.
Sadly, the 35-year-old Howell woman driving the GMC Terrain was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 50-year-old passenger, also from Howell, suffered critical injuries and was rushed by Livingston County EMS to the University of Michigan Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver of the Jeep, the Whitmore Lake man, also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the same hospital for care.
The Livingston County Major Crash Team is actively investigating the cause of the accident. Numerous agencies, including the Green Oak Township Fire Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Brighton City Police Department, Metroparks Police Authority, University of Michigan Survival Flight, Hamburg Township Fire Department, Brighton Area Fire Department, and Livingston County Central Dispatch, assisted with the emergency response.
In the aftermath of a deadly crash like this, surviving victims and the families of those lost may be entitled to compensation for their suffering and losses.
