Tragic Collision on I-75 in Oakland County Claims Lives,Injures

ROYAL OAK, MI — A tragic collision on I-75 in Oakland County resulted in the loss of four lives and left one person critically injured, as reported by the Michigan State Police. The devastating accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning and involved a wrong-way driver.

According to authorities, a black Volkswagen was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak at approximately 2:50 a.m. when it collided head-on with a Dodge Caravan.

The impact of the collision was catastrophic, leading to the deaths of the Volkswagen driver and three occupants of the Caravan. A fourth individual inside the Caravan was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

The aftermath of the crash prompted the closure of that section of I-75 for six hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene and investigate the incident. Police have not yet released the identities of the victims involved in the tragic collision on I-75 in Oakland County.
